"Cyber Threat Investigation & Digital Intelligence" Bootcamp Nakhchivan – 2026 was held at NSU
The training titled "Cyber Threat Investigation & Digital Intelligence" Bootcamp Nakhchivan – 2026 was held at the Innovation Center of Nakhchivan State University.
Elbrus Isayev, Rector of Nakhchivan State University, spoke about the importance of digitalization and information security in the modern era. Stating that the newly opened "Information Security" specialty at the university plays an important role in the development of this field, the Rector also emphasized the importance of strengthening personnel training in the direction of digital transformation and cybersecurity, and conducting educational trainings.
Speaking at the official opening of the event, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Acting Minister Azer Mammadrahimov said that in the modern era, information security is no longer just a technical issue, but one of the main factors determining the stability of the state and society.
“Information security has ceased to be a term in textbooks and has become an unshakable guarantor of the digital freedom and sovereignty of our state and each of our citizens,” he emphasized.
The Deputy Minister also noted that the organized bootcamp is not only aimed at transferring theoretical knowledge to the participants. Within the framework of the training, practical skills of young people are also developed by working on cyber scenarios reflecting real life.
Shahmar Hajiyahyayev, Head of the IRIA Information Security Department, spoke in his speeches about the strategic importance of cybersecurity in modern times. He stated that along with the continuous development of digital systems, ensuring the security of these systems is equally important.
Jamila Babayeva, a first-year student in the Computer Engineering (teaching in English) specialty, speaking on behalf of the students, noted that conducting such trainings will help develop the knowledge and skills of young people.
After the speeches, a practical training program consisting of two stages was launched. In the first stage of the training, tasks were performed based on a cybercrime scenario simulating real life. At this stage, detection and interpretation of digital traces, analysis of user behavior and trace mechanisms, collection of data from open sources and structured analysis approaches were applied.
In the second stage, practical research was conducted on teams. Based on the provided data, identification of individuals and activities was carried out, relationships and structures were analyzed. At the same time, “flag-based” tasks were performed, and a competitive environment was created between teams.
At the end of the training, the results obtained were presented, analytical approaches were discussed, and views were exchanged on professional development paths in the field of cybersecurity.
At the end, certificates were presented to the training participants.
