A business meeting was held between the management team of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and employees of subordinate institutions and representatives of “Aztelekom” LLC.

During the meeting, the issues of strengthening the digital infrastructure in the territory of the autonomous republic, expanding the scope of internet services, improving their quality and ensuring their continuity within the framework of the “State Program on the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023–2027” were discussed.

The parties reviewed in detail the possibilities of applying GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) technology in Nakhchivan, existing technical resources, the phased implementation plan of the project and potential difficulties. Representatives of “Aztelekom” presented technical recommendations for the effective implementation of the project, and also stated that the necessary methodological and technical support would be provided.

The main purpose of the meeting is to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of the targets set out in the State Program, and to further expand the population’s access to fast, high-quality and sustainable internet services.

The parties agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation and continue joint activities towards digital transformation.
