Azerbaijan is represented at the 28th Congress of the UPU
The Azerbaijani postal administration is participating in the 28th Congress, the supreme decision-making body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Congress, held every 4 years, elects the Director General and Deputy Director General of the UPU International Bureau, as well as the chairmen and members of the Postal Operations Council and the Administrative Council. This year, Azerbaijan is participating in the elections by nominating its candidacy for both councils.
A number of meetings were held within the framework of the Congress to support our country's candidacy, and propaganda and campaigning activities were carried out. The council elections will be held on the last day of the event.
Azer Mammadrahimov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, acting minister, held meetings with UPU leaders and delegations from a number of countries within the framework of the event. During the meetings, the work done in the development of postal, logistics and digital services in Nakhchivan was presented, using existing cooperative relations, and new partnership opportunities were discussed.
This activity is of great importance in terms of strengthening the position of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the international postal network, emphasizing the strategic importance of the region and expanding future cooperation opportunities.
It is expected that the results of the Congress will make a significant contribution to the development of the global postal sector, and the active participation of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in this process will further strengthen their positions in the field of international postal and logistics.
